Nation programs are one part of the safety net. Tribal members may also qualify for state, county, federal and nonprofit services.
If you do not know which program handles the need
Dial 211 and describe the need, your city, household size, age or disability needs, transportation limits and any deadline. Ask for programs currently accepting applications.
If you need affordable medical, dental or behavioral healthcare
The Community Health Center of Yavapai accepts AHCCCS and Medicare and offers a sliding fee scale. Cottonwood appointments: (928) 639-8132.
If an older adult or adult with a disability needs rides or help at home
Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition provides eligible Verde Valley clients no-cost transportation, care coordination, shopping help and other support. Call (928) 204-1238.
Know who is providing the service
- Nation: Yavapai-Apache Nation department or program
- State: Arizona program such as AHCCCS, SNAP or Cash Assistance
- County: Yavapai County health or local public services
- Federal: Social Security, Medicare, VA or other federal benefit
- Nonprofit: Community organization with its own eligibility and funding
Always confirm eligibility, documents and deadlines with the organization. Membership may open Tribal programs or special healthcare choices, but it does not automatically qualify a household for every benefit.
